Maurice was the son of Malcolm R. and Florence (Gould) Ryley. He was predeceased by his wife Marie C. (Courtemanche) Ryley who died on October 19, 2002; two brothers, Lenard and Patrick; and a sister, Dorothy (Ryley) Hammer.
Moe, as he was called to many, loved telling stories of days gone by, reliving the happiest, craziest and most endearing moments in his life with anyone would listen.
He spent many years working at the Hillsboro woolen Mill, in Hillsboro, Peterborough Ball Bearing Company in Peterborough, and at the Lewis Metal Shop on Craney Hill, Hillsboro. He was a hard worker and devoted his life to the betterment of his family and loved ones.
He is survived by two daughters, Jo-Ann Shattuck, of Hillsboro and Marie Stratton, of Westford, Vt.; one brother, Lloyd Ryley, of Tilton; two sisters, Marion Colby, of Henniker, and Katherine Butler, of Hillsboro; four grandsons, Kevin A. Briggs, of Louisisna, Kenneth M. Briggs, of New Hampshire, Richard Stratton, of Delaware and Timothy Stratton, of Vermont; and a special friend and companion Lorraine Nickerson, of New Hampshire.
